A Smart Ride Experience with DOTr!

Last March 11, representatives from the Department of Transportation went to PITX to try TRIPKO, the smart card. Upon arrival, Ms. Jenny Lou Lola, the Project Supervisor of TRIPKO, introduced the transport payment card to the group which is primarily used for buses and modern jeepneys.
By having TRIPKO Card, both the transport company and passengers can lessen cash handling risks because it’s easy as LOAD-TAP-RELAX. Passengers will also have easier time budgeting and can monitor their transactions and load balance thru TRIPKO website.
Ms. Lola also stated that the card is being used currently in HM Transport P2P Market! Market! to Pacita and Market! Market! to Alabang routes as well as in DyipKo PITX to Lawton route. Soon, it can also be used not just in Metro Manila but will also be expanded in other areas of the country.

As the day progresses, Ms. Lola and the DOTr representatives went onboard to experience first-hand the process on how to use the TRIPKO card. Starting with Mr. Clet, they each tried tapping on the automated ticketing device and received the receipt.
At the end of the ride, the DOTr representatives expressed their joy for such a new and convenient experience of public transport payment.
