TRIPKO Goes to Mindoro!

On February 20, 2020, Mr. Donavan Yu, CEO of Journeytech Inc. (JTI) together with Mr. Raymond Lapira (Operations Manager) went to Calapan, Mindoro in support of the Modern Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Caravan and the launch of Modern Jeepneys of Bahaghari Kapit Bisig Transport Cooperative.

The Modern PUV Caravan is a joint undertaking of the public and private sectors for the objective of gaining awareness of the numerous benefits of modern PUVs to potential participants and transport groups outside Metro Manila by introducing various vehicles participating in the PUV Modernization Program (PUVMP).

In light with the PUVMP, one of the modernized Public Utility Vehicle is called the Modern Jeepney. A Modern Jeepney or Modern Jeep is an improved version of our traditional “Jeeps”. It includes a more spacious interior, comfortable seats, and various accessories and equipment designed for the better commuting experience of passengers.

Bahaghari Kapit Bisig Transport Cooperative has partnered with JTI, a one stop shop for PUV Modernization needs, and availed an automated fare collection system namely TICKETKO and TRIPKO. TICKETKO is a mobile POS device and TRIPKO is a reloadable contactless payment card. These two eliminate three contact points- Manual ticketing, Cash handling, and Manual logging into the Trip Manifest as required by the government for the purpose of contact tracing.
